Start Your Custom Belt
Every piece is designed around a story. Tell me yours, and I'll build it into leather.
Fit & Measurements
Before we design the artwork, we need to make sure the finished piece fits correctly and is built around the hardware you’re using.
Method 1 — I Have an Existing Belt
Use this method if you have a belt that already fits you well.
Lay your belt flat. Measure from the bend/fold where the buckle attaches to the hole you use most often.
Watch: how to measure an existing belt
In inches. This is not your pants size and not your waist measurement
— it is the measurement of the belt you already own.
Method 2 — I Don’t Have an Existing Belt
Use this method if you don’t have an existing belt that fits you correctly.
Measure your actual waist, where you intend to wear the belt. Do not use your pants size.
Watch: how to measure your body waist
In inches, measured on your body. Not your pants size.
Important — a frame buckle and a plate buckle are measured differently. The buckle measurement determines where your belt holes are positioned. Please choose the correct type and measure the correct part of your buckle.
Which type of buckle? *I’ll recommend a plate buckle that suits your design and belt width, and confirm it with you.
Preview colors are illustrative. Natural leather, dye and finish can vary from screen representation.
Tell Me Your Story
You don’t need to know how to design leather artwork. Tell me what matters to you, and I’ll use your ideas as the foundation for the artwork.

Back to homeHow do I measure?

Measure a belt you already own and that fits you. Measure from the fold at the buckle to the hole you use most often. That distance is your measurement.
- Do not measure the belt’s total length.
- Do not simply use your pants size — a waist measurement is typically 1" larger.
- Your buckle’s size affects where the holes must sit. A 2" buckle means the holes are placed 2" shorter than your waist measurement.
- Every belt is built with a center hole and additional holes toward the tip, with 7" from the center hole to the tip.
How do I measure my buckle?
Important — buckle size and waist measurement are not the same thing. The buckle measurement tells me where to place the holes. It is not your waist size.
If you choose “I have my own buckle,” you will need to provide the buckle. Its physical dimensions directly affect how the belt is built.
- Frame style buckles have a pin that passes through the belt, so the belt needs a cutout near the buckle end.
- Plate style buckles attach differently and do not need that cutout.
- The distance from the buckle loop to the pin determines where the holes are placed. For example, a 2" buckle means the holes sit 2" shorter than your waist measurement.
